Women's volleyball team sweeps on the road at Moorpark

Irvine Valley's women's volleyball team picked up its second win of the season and snapped a two-game skid with a sweep at Moorpark in a nonconference match Wednesday night.

In their best performance of the season so far, the Lasers won at Moorpark, 25-22, 25-17, 25-15.

Sophomore outside hitter Kayla Scheevel led the way with 13 kills, 18 digs, one blocks, one ace and two assists.

She also hit an impressive .550 on the night.

Sophomore outside hitter Hannah Matt added 11 kills and one block, freshman opposite Olivia Aguilar contributed nine kills and two blocks, freshman middle blocker Hailey Riden had seven kills and four blocks and freshman middle blocker Kayla Shields chipped in five kills.

Sophomore libero Emily Reinking had 16 digs and sophomore setter Jenna Olbright ran the team with 39 assists. She also had six digs and a block.

IVC finished with 47 kills and 48 digs and hit .333 as a team on the night.

The Lasers evened their record at 2-2 on the year.

Irvine Valley plays again next Wednesday at Antelope Valley in a nonconference match at 6 p.m.
