After its best week of the season, the Irvine Valley women's volleyball team moved up four spots in the latest CCCWVCA State Rankings.
Irvine Valley is up to No. 13 in the state in the poll and No. 7 in Southern California.
The Lasers swept Cypress on the road and defeated Orange Coast at home in four sets last week in Orange Empire Conference play.
Cypress was ranked eighth and IVC was at No. 17 in the state rankings going into last week.
With Irvine Valley's 25-21, 25-16, 25-20 over the Chargers, the Lasers also moved into a tie for first place in the conference standings with Cypress.
Los Angeles Pierce remained at the top of the state poll.
Santa Barbara City was second, Foothill was third, Cabrillo was fourth and College of the Canyons was fifth.
The rest of the top 10 included El Camino, Grossmont, Fresno City, American River and Cypress.
Feather River was No. 11, San Joaquin Delta was 12th and San Joaquin Delta was 13th, right in front of Irvine Valley.
Irvine Valley, which has a record of 9-4 overall and 6-1 in conference, starts the second round of OEC play on Wednesday night with a home match against Santa Ana at 6 p.m.
The Lasers then travel to No. 19 Golden West on Friday for a key conference contest.
Golden West and No. 18 Fullerton are each 5-2 in conference and just one match behind Irvine Valley and Cypress for first place.
