Irvine Valley freshman men's tennis player Victor Chaix, who has been a key member of the Lasers' lineup, is headed to NAIA Westcliff University in Irvine.
Chaix has been with IVC since 2020. He had abbreviated seasons in both 2020 and 2021 before playing a full slate in 2022 with the Lasers.
Irvine Valley went 5-1-1 in a shortened 2020 year and then went 6-0 in only Orange Empire Conference action in 2021.
The Lasers had a record of 11-4 overall and won conference with a record of 8-0 overall under head coach Ross Duncan this past season.
IVC reached the California Community College Athletic Association Championship So. Cal. Regional semifinals before losing to eventual champion College of the Desert.
Chaix has been a mainstay in the Laser lineuup, playing both singles and doubles.
He made the regionals in both singles and doubles this past season, finishing seventh in singles in the OEC and second in doubles with sophomore Luis Moros.
Chaix is headed to a Westcliff squad that had a record of 7-8 overall last season and went 5-3 in the Golden State Athletic Conference.
