Men's tennis team rolls again, sweeps Orange Coast at home

Irvine Valley's men's tennis team continued to sweep through the Orange Empire Conference.

The Lasers won their third straight match, 9-0, to go to 3-0 in the OEC and 4-3 overall. Two of the team's losses are against four-year schools.

Irvine Valley scored wins easy in doubles with freshmen Arthur Bellegy and Kiichi Ishida winning, 8-3, at the No. 1 spot.

Freshmen Julio Vargas and Luis Moros won at No. 2, 8-1, as did the third team of Inaki Braun Simo and Pierre Vandegaer.

In singles, Bellegy, Vargas, Van de Gaer, Moros, Ishida and Braun Simo all won in straight sets.

Vargas, Van de Gaer and Ishida all won their matches, 6-0, 6-0.

The Lasers have Thursday off and are back in action next Tuesday at Saddleback in a conference match at 2 p.m.
