Men's soccer goes to 4-0 in conference, wins sixth in last seven

Irvine Valley's men's soccer team moved its record to 4-0-0 in Orange Empire Conference play and 7-4-0 overall with an important 5-3 victory at Saddleback on Friday afternoon.

The Lasers have won six of their last seven contests and stayed at the top of the conference standings.

IVC hosts Fullerton next Tuesday at 3 p.m.

Irvine Valley scored goals in the 17th minute from freshman forward Andrew Roldan (assist by freshman midfielder Yungho Sun) and then put the game away in the 59th minute with another standout play by freshman forward Jonathan Minney.

It was Roldan's sixth sixth goal of the year and Minney's second score of the season. Minney now has two goals and a team-leading six assists.

Irvine Valley freshman goalie Sansiro Murata made six saves and recorded his second clean sheet of the year.

IVC will continue to move up in the 3C2A state power point standings.

The Lasers are back home again, hosting Santiago Canyon in a conference match on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
