Irvine Valley women's soccer players Yvette Belman and Savanna Hayes have been named first team all-Orange Empire Conference.
The conference coaches met on Monday evening to decide end of the conference season awards.
Belman, a sophomore, and Hayes, a freshman were both primarily defenders for the Lasers, but showed their abilities all over the field for the team throughout the season.
Belman, who also played in the midfield, at striker and even spent part of one match in goal, tied for the team lead in goals with four and in points with nine.
She had two goals in Irvine Valley's season-finale match at Norco last Thursday and played in 21 matches on the year.
Hayes anchored the Laser defense most of the season and also had two goals on the year. Hayes, who started all 22 of Irvine Valley's matches on the year, helped the squad record seven shutouts on the year.
Irvine Valley also had two players receive second team all-conference honors in freshman defender Angela Hernandez and sophomore midfielder Catherine Pineda.
Hernandez was another mainstay on the defensive end for the Lasers. She started all 21 matches she played in and also recorded one goal and two assists on the season.
Pineda, a two-year player for Irvine Valley, played in 21 matches and started 16 contests.
Irvine Valley finished with a record of 3-12-7 overall and 3-7-6 in conference action. But the Lasers were competitive. They dropped seven matches by one goal. IVC did earn ties against the top-two teams in the conference - Santiago Canyon and Cypress.
Santiago Canyon, which won the conference title for the 14th straight year, received the top awards.
Cassie Soto was named the conference's most valuable player and Ian Woodhead was picked as the coach of the year.
