Women's soccer team draws for fifth time in OEC action

Goal scoring was at a minimum as the Irvine Valley women's soccer team traveled to Santa Ana to take on the Dons in Orange Empire Conference action on Friday.

The match ended in a 0-0 draw.

Irvine Valley's record went to 2-10-6 overall and 2-5-5 in conference play. Santa Ana's record moved to 7-8-3 overall and 4-6-3 in conference.

It was Irvine Valley's fifth match in a row without a goal.

Sophomore forward Brenda Chopin led Irvine Valley with two shots in the contest.

Freshman keeper Marisa Banos made two saves in goal.

Irvine Valley remained in seventh place in the conference standings - two points behind Santa Ana for sixth.

The Lasers have four matches remaining in the regular season and two at home next week. IVC hosts Cypress on Tuesday at 3 p.m. and then hosts Golden West on Friday at 3 p.m.
