Women's soccer team ends season with loss at Saddleback

Irvine Valley dropped its final match of the regular season, 2-0, in an Orange Empire Conference contest on Thursday at the Saddleback Stadium. 

The Lasers finished with a record of 3-12-7 overall and 3-7-6 in conference play.

Saddleback recorded its 11th shutout of the season, which was one shy of the program record set back in 2003.  

Saddleback and Irvine Valley were scoreless heading into the second half.

Saddleback finally broke the ice in the 65th minute when Samantha Belmonte scored her second goal of the season. The Gauchos then broke the game open three minutes later when Brittany Kaufman netted her second goal of the season for a 2-0 lead.

IVC freshman keeper Marissa Banos made six saves in goal for IVC. Freshman defender Angela Hernandez had two shots on goal for the Lasers.

Saddleback finished the regular season 10-5-5 overall and 7-4-5 in conference play.
