Irvine Valley freshman women's badminton players Yan Luo and Chih Cheih "Juarita" Huang were each named California Community College Coaches Association 2022 All Americans.
The duo helped Irvine Valley win a South Coast Conference title this past season and reach the CCCAA Team State Championship.
The Lasers fell to top-ranked De Anza, 11-0, in the championship match last week at Fresno City College.
De Anza handed IVC all four of its losses this season.
Irvine Valley finished with a record of 8-4 overall.
Luo and Huang also reached the semifinals of the doubles championship match. The duo fell to the eventual state-winning pair of Madison Moe and Malaya Paras-Mangrobang of De Anza, 21-12, 21-15, in the semis.
