A number of Irvine Valley baseball players have signed to continue their academic and athletic careers at four-year schools over the last month and they will each be highlighted over the coming weeks at www.ivclasers.com

Sophomore right-handed relief pitcher Paul Colignon has signed with NCAA Division II Oklahoma Baptist University.

Colignon made 15 appearances over his two-year career at IVC. He pitched 26.2 innings and had a 4.05 ERA over the last two years with the Lasers.

Colignon made appearances and pitched 12.1 innings this past year. He had four strikeouts and a 4.38 ERA.

He pitched three scoreless innings and gave up just one hit in Irvine Valley's 6-4 win at San Diego City on Feb. 11.

Irvine Valley finished with a 20-19-1 record and just missed making the postseason this year.

The 6-3 Colignon, who pitched at Servite High before coming to IVC, is headed to an Oklahoma Baptist program that had a record of 35-21 overall and 20-13 in conference.

The Bison won four straight games to take the Great American Conference Tournament and then reached the NCAA Central Region playoffs and won two games before getting knocked out.
