Irvine Valley sophomore infielder David Rojas has signed with NAIA Georgetown College in Georgetown, Ky.

He will join sophomore teammate Keenan Cisneros with the Tigers along with former IVC players Ryan Gaynor and Zack Stack, who helped Georgetown to another solid season in 2019.

Rojas was a major player for the Lasers the past two years as a starter in most games in 2018 and 2019.

He played in 36 games this season and batted .252 with 17 runs scored, one double, one triple and 16 RBI.

Rojas also had seven multi-hit games, had a .383 on base percentage and contributed five stolen bases.

And he drove in four runs in Irvine Valley's 11-6 win at Mt. San Jacinto. He had three RBI in Irvine Valley's 19-7 victory at LA Harbor.

As a freshman in 2018, Rojas played in 29 games and batted .245 with 19 runs, six doubles and 20 RBI.

Irvine Valley finished with a 20-19-1 record and just missed making the postseason this year.

Rojas, a former Saddleback high standout, is headed to a Georgetown team that ended the year with a record of 45-15 overall and made the finals of the 2019 NAIA National Tournament Opening Round.

The team finished with 42 wins in the regular season, which was the most regular season victories in program history.
