The Irvine Valley women's beach volleyball team finished off the regular season with two more wins against Orange Empire Conference teams on Friday at home.
The Lasers defeated Riverside, 5-0, and then took down Saddleback, 4-1, to improve their record to 13-10 overall and 9-1 in conference.
Irvine Valley will next compete in the OEC Pairs Championships at on the Laser beach courts next Wednesday. The opening rounds will be on Wednesday with play continuning on Friday at IVC for the consolation matches, quarterfinals, semis and finals.
Irvine Valley has clinched the Eastern Division in the OEC and will play in a So. Cal. team regional on May 3 with a trip to the California Community College Athletic Association State Championship, which will be held at Irvine Valley, on the line.
On Friday, Irvine Valley beat Riverside in the first match of the day.
The IVC pairs of freshmen Jaclyn Sanchez and Emily Guenter, Jolie Rasmussen and Barett Nolan and Diamonique Brogan and Chloe Swanson each won in straight sets.
Rasmussen and Barett won, 21-2, 21-8, and Brogan and Swanson came out on top, 21-8, 21-9.
In Irvine Valley's second match of the day versus Saddleback, Sanchez and Guenter, Rasmussen and Nolan, Brogan and Swanson and the freshmen pair of Gabi Brown and Sevilla Leuteneker each swept matches.
The highlight came from Brown and Leutenker, who captured a 21-3, 21-4 victory.
