Irvine Valley's women's golf team finished third in the latest Orange Empire Conference match, which was held on Wednesday at El Prado in Chino.
The match was hosted by conference-leading Mt. San Antonio.
Mt. SAC won the match and earned an 8-0 record with a team score of 322.
The Mounties edged College of the Desert, which finished second three shots back at 325.
Irvine Valley came in third with a score of 339 to beat out fourth-place Palomar (341) and fifth-place Orange Coast (343).
IVC was paced by sophomore Rebecca Peng, who shot a 7 over par 79.
Sophomore Hyerin Kim came in at 83, sophomore Stuti Mandal finished at 84 and sophomore Liliana Gutierrez carded a 93 to round out the Lasers' scorers.
College of the Desert's Fumika Matsumoto was the medalist on the day with a 3 under par score of 69.
Peng finished fourth individually.
Mt. SAC improved its lead in the conference standings with the victory. The Mounties' record moved to 61-3 overall. College of the Desert remained in second and has a record of 53-11.
Irvine Valley is in third with a record of 49-15. Next is Palomar with a record of 37-27.
IVC plays again on Monday, Oct. 19 in a conference match at Sun Lakes in Banning.
