Irvine Valley's beach volleyball team had four pairs earn all-Orange Empire Conference honors after the conference tournament, which finished last Friday.
Irvine Valley was led by the sophomore pair of Barett Nolan and Chloe Swanson, which made it to the final of the OEC Pairs Championship event, and sophomore Gabi Brown and freshman Sydney Dews.
Both pairs earned first team honors.
Irvine Valley's teams of sophomore Angie Griego and freshman Tessa Marocco and freshmen Emily Hon and Mia Bertolone were both named to the second team.
Orange Coast led the way with the honors.
And that was no surprise since the Pirates went undefeated in conference play (10-0), recorded a 15-2 overall record during the regular season, won the OEC Western Division title and had their top duo capture the conference pairs tournament championship at Irvine Valley.
In all, OCC placed five pairs as all-conference selections with the duo of Brisa Zapata-Reaves and Corinne Williams taking home team of the year honors.
Orange Coast's top team won a hard-fought championship final over IVC's pair Nolan and Swanson in three sets (19-21, 21-7, 15-8) late in the day on Apr. 28 at the Laser Beach Courts.
Zapata-Reaves and Williams were dominant on the season. That lost set in the championship of the OEC tournament was the first they had dropped all year.
Joining their teammates as part of the first team for Orange Coast were the duos of Izzy Duchaine and Theresia Amtmann and Lexy Mendoza and Jesse Coralle.
Orange Coast also had two teams on the second team with Paige Cutwright and Alexandra Selivanov and Kinglsey Mason and Leah Thibault.
Irvine Valley won the OEC Eastern Division title and had the four teams mentioned above named all-conference.
Two Saddleback pairs had a great run in the conference championships.
Logan Daniels and Abigail Brown and Sydney Brown and Lilyann Horner each made the semifinals of the OEC tourney and were named to the first team.
The duos of Maci Hendry and Iliana Galindo of Golden West and Kaiden Raif and Matilde Teixeira of Santa Ana were also picked first team all-conference.
