Irvine Valley head coach and starter of the program Tom Pestolesi retired from IVC after that state title. But the Lasers are in good hands with Ryan Windisch, who has been in charge of head coaching duties for the men's and women's indoor teams for the last several seasons.
Windish, who was a libero at IVC and went on to play at Long Beach State, led the men's team to the state championship title match in 2019 and won an Orange Empire Conference title over Orange Coast in 2021.
He has also been super successful with the women's indoor team.
Over the past two seasons, Irvine Valley has had a record of 36-11 under Windisch and made the So. Cal. Regional playoffs in both years.
