The season will continue for Irvine Valley's top women's tennis doubles team.

Freshman Renee Walton and sophomore Kristina Ebon got through two rounds at the Orange Empire Conference finals in Riverside and qualified for the State Championships.

The state event will be held in Ojai from April 23-27.

The duo then battled to beat a team from Orange Coast, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 to assure a spot at state.

Walton and Ebon lost in the quarterfinals on Friday to the second-seeded team from Saddleback, 7-5, 6-0.

In singles action, Walton, who was the No. 11 seed, won her first-round match over Saddleback's Kate O'Neil, 7-5, 6-3, before losing in the second round to Danielle Walker of Fullerton, 6-1, 6-3.
