The Irvine Valley women's soccer team went on the road to start Orange Empire Conference play and came away with a 2-0 victory over Golden West Tuesday afternoon.
The Lasers improved their record to 2-6-0 overall and 1-0-0 in conference play.
Irvine Valley got on the board in the 25th minute when sophomore midfielder Merlin Serpas scored off of an assist from freshman midfielder Danielle Jauregui.
The Lasers continued to pressure and scored again before the end of the first half.
Freshman midfielder Natalie Guzman found the back of the net in the 31st minute on a set piece play off of a corner kick from sophomore defender Carlene Nhu.
The Lasers defense was solid the rest of the way with freshman keeper Sydnee Salamoff making four saves on the afternoon.
Irvine Valley plays again on Friday, hosting Fullerton at 3 p.m.
