Women's soccer team comes up just short at Antelope Valley

After recording its first win of the season on Tuesday at East Los Angeles, Irvine Valley's women's soccer team looked for another on Friday.

The Lasers were right there and controlled much of the contest at Antelope Valley, but came up on the wrong end of a 1-0 contest.

Irvine Valley's record slipped to 1-5-0 overall. Antelope Valley improved to 4-4-0 overall.

The Lasers out-shot Antelope Valley, 17-8, in the game, including, 10-4, in the opening half.

But Antelope Valley got a goal from Daisie Lara in the 33rd minute and held IVC off the board for the rest of the contest.

Freshman forward Jocelyn Quinonez led IVC with three shots and freshman goalie Sydnee Salamoff finished with six saves.

Irvine Valley plays again next Friday when it hosts Norco at 4 p.m.
