Irvine Valley's women's soccer team moved into the 2014 California Community College Athletic Association Women's Soccer Poll for the first time this season this week.
The Lasers are ranked tied for No. 8 in the Southern California Regional Poll.
Irvine Valley has an overall record of 8-2-3. IVC also sits in third place in the Orange Empire Conference standings.
Irvine Valley plays at the top team in Southern California, Santiago Canyon, today at 3 p.m. in a key conference match-up.
Santiago Canyon is also ranked No. 3 in the state.
The top 10 teams in Southern California are No. 1 Santiago Canyon, No. 2 Cerritos, No. 3 San Bernardino Valley, No. 4 Cypress, No. 5 Santa Monica, No. 6 Rio Hondo, No. 7 San Diego Miramar, No. 8 College of the Canyons and Irvine Valley and No. 10 East Los Angeles.
Irvine Valley plays at home again next Tuesday when it hosts Fullerton at 3 p.m.
