The Irvine Valley men's tennis team swept Orange Coast, 9-0, on the road Tuesday afternoon in its first Orange Empire Conference match of the season.
IVC improved its record to 2-0 overall. The Lasers will play again in another conference match on Thursday at Fullerton at 2 p.m.
The Lasers won all three doubles matches easily and then swept five of the six singles contests in straight sets.
Starting off in doubles, the No. 1 team freshman Nick Grove and freshman Luciano Pardo, won 8-3.
In the second spot, freshman Lucas Diaz and freshman Lucas Torres came out on top, 8-4, and the No. 3 duo of freshman Patrick Riggs and sophomore Alyan Ashraf won, 8-2, to give Irvine Valley a 3-0 cushion.
In singles, Grove won easy on the first court, 6-1, 6-2.
The Lasers also received victories from Pardo at No. 2 (6-0, 2-6, (11-9), Ashraf on the third court (6-1, 6-1) and Riggs at No. 4 where he won, 6-0, 6-0.
IVC's Diaz defeated Ryan Magers, 7-5, 6-2, on the fifth court and Torres won at No. 6 (6-2, 7-5).
Irvine Valley plays again on Thursday in another conference match at Fullerton at 2 p.m.
