Irvine Valley's flag football team finished in third place in the two-day Cal Lutheran University tournament that took place over Friday and Saturday.
The Lasers went 4-2 in the event and improved their record to 5-2 overall on the season.
Irvine Valley started the tournament on Friday with a 12-6 win over Redlands.
IVC played two more games on Friday, shutting out host Cal Lutheran, 35-0, and then falling to the FC Spartans (MiraCosta), 36-22.
Irvine Valley took on the FC Spartans again on Saturday to start the day, played better, but still came up short, 18-7.
But the Lasers finished the day with two straight wins. IVC defeated Cal Lutheran, 31-13, and then beat Arizona State, 31-15.
Irvine Valley plays again next Friday at Saddleback.
