Irvine Valley's women's beach volleyball team gets some more time on its own sand this week with a pair of events.
The Lasers will host a California Community College Athletic Association South Team Regional on Tuesday and then the pairs regional on Friday.
Both events will determine spots in the upcoming CCCAA State Championships next Week at The Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista.
Irvine Valley, which won the Orange Empire Conference East Division, earned the No. 3 seed and will host San Diego Mesa and Saddleback on Tuesday in a team regional.
Action gets underway at 11 a.m. with Irvine Valley facing Saddleback. The Gauchos will then play San Diego Mesa at 12 p.m. before the Lasers take on Mesa at 1 p.m.
The Lasers have a record of 14-7 overall and went 10-0 in conference. IVC is 12-0 against community college opponents this season and have a mark of 59-1 in individual pairs contests against those schools.
Irvine Valley is led by its No. 1 pair team of sophomore Renata Bath and freshman Lea Kruse. The duo was one of four IVC pairs to advance to Friday's South Pairs Regionals.
Bath and Kruse and the duo of sophomores Alyssa Vortouni and Emilie Austin were all named players of the year in the Orange Empire Conference.
