The Irvine Valley women's soccer team battled Santa Ana on Friday in an Orange Empire Conference match on the road.
The Lasers out-shot the Dons, 13-6, in the contest, but Santa Ana found the winning goal in the 29th minute in a 1-0 victory over IVC.
Irvine Valley's record slippped to 5-14-0 overall and 4-8-0 in conference.
Santa Ana improved its record to 3-14-0 overall and 2-10-0 in the OEC.
Irvine Valley sophomore forward Natalia Guzman took four shots, including three on goal and sophomore midfielder Vienna Vargas had two shots, including two on goal for the Lasers.
Freshman keeper Sydnee Salamoff finished with two saves in the match for the Lasers.
Santa Ana scored got its goal in the 29th minute from Brianna Mejia.
Valerie Ibarra recorded eight saves in her second shutout of the season to get the win at goalkeeper for the Dons.
Irvine Valley hosts No. 1 in the state Saddleback on Tuesday in a conference match at home.
