The Irvine Valley women's soccer team played its best match of the season Tuesday night on the road and came out with a 3-0 victory at East Los Angeles.
The Lasers got a goal from sophomore forward Jocelyn Quinonez in the 29th minute off a pass from sophomore midfielder Merlin Serpas to take the lead and then added two more goals in the second half to put the match away.
Quinonez scored again 12 minutes into the second half off an assist from sophomore midfielder Elle-May Taylor.
Freshman midfielder Andrea Goana closed out the scoring for IVC in the 79th minute.
Freshman goalie Sydnee Salamoff recorded the shutout with five saves.
The Lasers out-shot East Los Angeles, 20-8, in the contest and finished with nine corner kicks.
Irvine Valley (1-4-0 overall) plays again on Friday, traveling to Antelope Valley for a 4 p.m. match.
