  • Men's basketball player Chris Lott headed to Azusa Pacific

    Freshman guard Chris Lott will play at Division 2 Azusa Pacific next season. He was named second team all-Orange Empire Conference for the Lasers this past season after averaging 10.2 points and 3.8 rebounds per game.
  • Basketball player Isaiah Milan commits to San Diego Christian

    Freshman guard Isaiah Milan committed to San Diego Christian recently. The 6-0 guard started all 28 games for Irvine Valley last season and averaged 10.0 points, 2.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.0 steals per game for IVC.
  • Irvine Valley athletics program places 14th among state's best

    Irvine Valley's athletics program placed 14th in the state for the 2015-16 school year among community colleges in the state. IVC was once again the highest finisher among non-football institutions.
  • Men's basketball player Patrick Sniff signs with Western State

    Irvine Valley sophomore post player Patrick Sniff signed with Western State Colorado University last week. Sniff averaged 4.5 points and 3.9 rebounds a game last season for IVC and helped the Lasers to a 15-13 overall record.
  • Men's basketball player Chris Lott named second team all-OEC

    Irvine Valley freshman guard Chris Lott is picked second team all-Orange Empire Conference after averaging 11.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.3 steals during conference action. He averaged 10.2 points a game overall.

    Irvine Valley gets 18 points from point guard Isaiah Milan and 13 points and 11 rebounds from forward Zach Harvey in a 69-54 Orange Empire Conference win at Santa Ana on Friday. IVC out-scored Santa Ana in bench points, 38-7.

    Irvine Valley has a late lead, but Riverside scores the final three points for a 69-68 victory over the Lasers. Chris Lott scores a game-high 22 points for Irvine Valley, which finishes the season Friday at Santa Ana.

    Irvine Valley plays tough in stretches, but the Gauchos have too much in the end in a 71-54 victory over the Lasers in an Orange Empire Conference game Thursday at IVC. Irvine Valley plays two games on the road next week.

    Irvine Valley takes an early lead and continues to pull away in a 82-68 win over Orange Coast on Friday night. IVC led by 20 points at halftime. Chris Lott had a big night with 22 points for the Lasers, who shot 61.5 percent as a team.

    Irvine Valley out-scores Santa Ana by 10 points in the second half and then survives a Don run in the final 20 minutes in a 76-66 Orange Empire Conference victory at home Wednesday. Chris Lott scores a game-high 21 points for IVC.

    Irvine Valley finishes strong after being down eight points late, but still falls, 59-55, to Riverside in an Orange Empire Conference game on Friday night at home. Chris Lott ends with 18 points and seven rebounds to pace IVC.

    Irvine Valley plays tough in the first half at Saddleback, but the Gauchos pull away in the second half for a 65-51 Orange Empire Conference victory. IVC gets 11 points from Jacob Dean. The Lasers host Riverside Friday at 5 p.m.
  • Men's basketball team loses in overtime at Orange Coast

    Irvine Valley storms back at OCC to tie the game, 61-61, at the end of regulation. But the Pirates are seven points better in overtime to take the win. It was the Lasers' third straight loss to open conference. Jacob Dean led IVC with 12 points.

    Irvine Valley beats the Monarchs, 93-67, in final game before the start of Orange Empire Conference play. The Lasers see 12 players score, including four in double figures. Chris Lott leads the way with 16 points and Isaiah Milan adds 15.

    After dropping its first game to a tough Mt. San Jacinto squad, Irvine Valley bounces back with wins over Trade Tech and Long Beach City to finish up Bill Brummel Classic at Saddleback. Isaiah Milan is named all-tourney for IVC.

    Irvine Valley shoots just 33.3 percent from the field as a team in the game and loses to LA Harbor, 58-52, on Thursday in the first round of the Don Johnson Classic at Cypress. Craig Magyar paces IVC with nine points and six rebounds.
  • Men's basketball team takes two of three games at Monterey

    Irvine Valley falls to American River by a point in its first game of the Monterey Peninsula Classic last weekend, but rebounds with wins over Reedley and host Monterey Peninsula. Craig Magyar has 24 points in the 68-66 win over MPC.
  • Men's basketball team wins fourth straight, tops Mt. SAC
    November 25, 2015
    Irvine Valley defeats Mt. San Antonio, 71-66, behind 15 points from Mike Turner and 13 points from Isaiah Milan, on Wednesday at home. IVC used a 20-6 run in the first half to take control. The Lasers improved their record to 5-1.
  • Men's basketball team earns Classic title with win over Cerritos
    November 21, 2015
    Irvine Valley wins its third straight game in the Irvine Valley College Classic with a 61-51 victory over a tough Cerritos squad on Saturday at home. Isaiah Milan is named MVP and coach Jerry Hernandez picks up his 400th victory at IVC.
  • Men's basketball team moves into title game of IVC Classic
    November 20, 2015
    Irvine Valley plays its second strong game in a row in its own tournament, knocking off Santa Monica, 76-62, on Friday. The Lasers got 14 points from Tanner Aguera in the victory. IVC plays Cerritos in the final Saturday at 4 p.m.
  • Men's basketball team off to flying start in own Classic
    November 19, 2015
    Irvine Valley scores early and often in a 88-58 win over Long Beach City in an opening round game of the Irvine Valley Classic on Friday night. IVC is paced by Isaiah Milan with 14 points. The Lasers host Santa Monica on Friday.
  • Irvine Valley Classic men's basketball tourney set for Thursday
    November 18, 2015
    Irvine Valley opens the tournament playing Long Beach City at 6 p.m. on Thursday. The three-day tournament will have four games on both Thursday and Friday and three games on Saturday, including the title contest at 4 p.m.
  • Men's basketball team begins season splitting games
    November 14, 2015
    Irvine Valley, which is ranked No. 12 in Southern California in the preseason coaches poll, wins at El Camino and then falls at Cuyamaca during its first week of the 2015-16 season. Isaiah Milan has 21 points in the defeat at Cuyamca.
