Baseball team is a week away from the start of the 2023 season

The Irvine Valley baseball schedule for 2023 has been released and the Lasers open the season with back-to-back games against Long Beach City.

The Lasers play at the Vikings on Friday, Jan. 27 at 2 p.m. and then have their first home game of the year on Saturday, Jan. 28 with a noon start.

Irvine Valley had a record of 17-23 overall last season.

IVC returns a number of top players, including catcher Connor Tallakson, first baseman Casey Kudell, shortstop Nick Madole and pitchers Austin Chapman and Sammy Murphy. Coach Kent Madole and his staff have also brought in a slew of solid additions.

After the Long Beach City two-game set, Irvine Valley plays at San Bernardino Valley on Feb. 2.

The Lasers are back at home on Saturday, Feb. 4 at noon.

IVC starts its 21-game Orange Empire Conference action on Tuesday, Mar. 7 against Cypress at home at 2 p.m.
