The Irvine Valley women's volleyball schedule for 2014 has been posted.

The Lasers will open the season at the Azusa Pacific Scrimmage Tournament on Monday, Aug. 25, taking on Hope International, Vanguard and Biola.

IVC will then play at Concordia University on Wednesday, Aug. 27.

Irvine Valley also has matches scheduled at Canyons (Sept. 5) and Palomar (Sept. 10) before hosting its first match on Friday, Sept. 12.

On Sept. 12, Irvine Valley will play host to Golden West, Moorpark and San Diego City in a quad event.

IVC will also host Vanguard on Tuesday, Sept. 30.

Irvine Valley opens its Orange Empire Conference schedule on Friday, Oct. 3 at Golden West.

The Lasers are coming off one of the best seasons in school history last year.

Irvine Valley won its first 24 matches of the season, finished with an overall record of 24-2, placed third in the state tournament, won a conference title and had freshman middle blocker Annie Mitchem named two-year national player of the year as well as All-American and the OEC MVP.

Coach Tom Pestolesi was recognized as the two-year regional coach of the year.

It was the fourth Orange Empire Conference in program history and the team's second-best finish ever at the state tourney.

Pestolesi will have most of his team back from last year, including Mitchem, all-region setter Hailey Jones and all-OEC outside hitters Marisa Doran and Kobi Pekich.
