Men's basketball team loses at LA Valley, OEC play up next

Irvine Valley's men's basketball team starts Orange Empire Conference play on Wednesday, Jan. 9 at home.

The Lasers open conference play with three straight home games.

IVC will take on Orange Coast at 5 p.m. on Jan. 9.

Irvine Valley enters conference action with a record of 3-13 overall.

The Lasers fell at LA Valley, 61-35, on Dec. 28 in their final non-conference contest.

Irvine Valley was playing catch-up most of the way. The Lasers were down, 32-15, at halftime.

IVC shot just 22.2 percent (12 of 54) for the game and was out-rebounded, 40-27.

Sophomore guard Geoff Salas led the way with 17 points off the bench for IVC.

He was the only player for the Lasers to score in double figures.

Micah Cooper had 21 points and Christian Hodge added 15 points for LA Valley, which improved its record to 8-7 overall.
