Beach volleyball season continues Friday in pairs regionals

Irvine Valley's women's beach volleyball continues its season on Friday in the 3C2A Southern California Pairs Regionals at El Camino.

The Lasers have three pairs that moved on from the Orange Empire Conference, highlighted by the duo of sophomore Natalia Brandlin and freshman Audrey Fowler, the sophomore pair of Tessa Marocco and Kenzie Dews and the third pair of freshman Avery Bennett and sophomore Mia Bertolone.

Brandlin and Fowler, ranked No. 4 will take on No. 23 Cerritos' duo of Jenni Solano and Abby Gutierrez in the opening round.

Marocco and Dews, who are seeded sixth, take on the No. 27 of team of Josephine Springer and Brooklyn Thomas of Mt. San Jacinto.

And Irvine Valley's team of Bertolone and Bennett are the No. 30 seed and will take on the No. 3 pair of Olivia Medina and Ashley Rossi from Santa Barbara City.

Pairs that win first round matches automatically move on the the 3C2A State Championship at West Valley next week.

The regional event continues on Saturday at El Camino.
