Irvine Valley's women's volleyball team won its second straight match on the road and improved its record to 3-2 overall with a sweep at Antelope Valley on Wednesday night.
Irvine Valley defeated the Marauders, 26-24, 25-14, 25-10.
The Lasers got better with each set and ended up hitting .386 as a team on the night.
Irvine Valley freshmen middle blockers Hailey Riden and Kayla Shields led the way eight kills each. Shields had the eight kills in eight attempts for a 1.000 hitting percentage.
Riden hit .700 with her eight kills in 10 attempts with one error.
Sophomore outside hitters Hannah Matt and Kayla Scheevel each added six kills for the Lasers. Sheevel also contributed four digs and four aces.
Sophomore setter Jenna Olbright finished with 30 assists and four kills and sophomore libero Emily Reinking had four digs and two aces. IVC finished with 11 aces as a team in the match.
Irvine Valley, which is ranked No. 14 in the state and ninth in Southern California, has one more match before starting Orange Empire Conference action. The Lasers will play at NAIA Vanguard University next Tuesday at 7 p.m.
The Lasers then open conference play at Santa Ana next Friday at 7 p.m.
