    Irvine Valley's women's tennis team won an Orange Empire Conference title (the second in the history of the program), was ranked No. 1 in Southern California and reached the semis of the playoff regional tournament.

    Irvine Valley sophomore Sarah Mae Garcia, who was an all-Orange Empire Conference player and finished ranked No. 4 in the state in singles by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, was named as an ITA All-American last week.

    Irvine Valley avenges an earlier loss to Riverside with a 6-3 victory on the road Tuesday and clinches at least a share of the second Orange Empire Conference title in program history. IVC starts the playoffs next Tuesday at home.

    Irvine Valley beats Saddleback, 6-3, on Thursday at home and is tied for first place with Orange Coast at the top of the Orange Empire Conference standings. IVC closes out the regular season with a big match next Tuesday at Riverside.

    Irvine Valley loses, 5-4, at Orange Coast on Thursday afternoon and moves into a tie with OCC for first place in the Orange Empire Conference. IVC plays again next Thursday against Wisconsin Whitewater at home at 3 p.m.

    Irvine Valley stays tied for first place in the Orange Empire Conference with a 6-3 victory at Saddleback Thursday. IVC takes four of six matches in singles and then wraps things up with two wins in doubles. IVC hosts Cypress Tuesday.

    Irvine Valley defeats Rio Hondo, 9-0, on Tuesday afternoon in its final match before the start of Orange Empire Conference play. The Lasers open conference Thursday with a home contest against Orange Coast at 2 p.m.

    Irvine Valley improves its record to 2-0 with an easy 9-0 win at El Camino on Tuesday. Sarah Mae Garcia, Lou Baize, Samantha Paz Lorna Morris and Fiorella Dreux each win in both singles and doubles for the Lasers.
  • Women's tennis team gets 2017 season off to rousing start
    January 31, 2017
    Irvine Valley defeats Glendale, 5-4, after Lou Baize wins the deciding match at No. 4 singles in three sets. Glendale was ranked No. 1 in Southern California in the ITA preseason poll. The Lasers are at No. 2 Cerritos next Tuesday.
  • Ross Duncan to head men's and women's tennis programs at IVC

    Ross Duncan, who has led the Irvine Valley men's tennis team to three straight state finals appearances and two consecutive state titles, will now be coaching the men's and women's tennis teams at IVC.
  • Ross Duncan named Orange Empire Conference Coach of the Year
    September 29, 2016
    Irvine Valley tennis coach Ross Duncan was selected the Orange Empire Conference men's coach of the year for all sports last week. Duncan helped lead the Lasers to their second straight state championship this past spring.
  • Amber Vann named women's tennis coach at Whittier College
    September 15, 2016
    Amber Vann, a player, assistant coach and head coach with the women's tennis program at Irvine Valley, is taking over the women's program at NCAA Division III Whittier College. Vann guided IVC to the playoffs each of the last two years.
