Irvine Valley's women's golf team took its turn hosting an Orange Empire Conference match on Wednesday and finished a solid second at Tustin Ranch Golf Club.
The Lasers also had the medalist on the day.
Freshman Kylie Sok carded a 77 to lead the Lasers. It was the second straight match that Sok has finished as the medalist in a conference match.
She finished in front of Saddleback's Brittney Do, who came in at 79.
Saddleback won the team battle, finishing with a four-player score of 363.
Irvine Valley was second at 371 and Fullerton took third at 391.
Both Mt. SAC and Orange Coast didn't have team scores due to four players not finishing the round.
Irvine Valley also got a solid round from freshman Vera Yuan, who scored 83.
Sophomore Akie Sannomiya was Irvine Valley's third player at 96 and sophomore Esther Kim rounded out the scoring at 115.
Irvine Valley remained in second place in the conference standings and now has a record of 13-6.
Saddleback leads the field at 19-1.
Sok moved closer to Saddleback's Do in the race for the lowest player average in conference.
Do paces the OEC at an average of 76.8 strokes per 18 holes. Sok is next at 77.2.
Irvine Valley plays again next Wednesday at Arroyo Trabuco. The match is hosted by Saddleback.
