Tyne McClure is in her second year as an assistant coach at Irvine Valley. Head coach Julie Hanks is happy to have the former Laser on board.

McClure was a two-year starter while playing at Irvine Valley from 2009-11. She averaged 8.5 points and 4.8 rebounds while at IVC.

Before that, McClure was a three-year varsity basketball player at Vista High in North San Diego County where she earned all-league accolades. She also competed in track and field in high school.

From Irvine Valley, McClure went on to receive a scholarship and play at La Verne University. She averaged 9.5 points and 5.8 rebounds a junior and 8.1 points and 5.2 rebounds a senior for La Verne. She helped La Verne to a record of 14-11 her sophomore season in 2012-13.

McClure received her degree in sociology from La Verne in 2013.
