Men's tennis team moves players on to the state event

Irvine Valley's men's tennis team continued its solid season by qualifying two singles players and two doubles teams on to the California Community College Athletic Association State Championships this Friday and Saturday at Mt. San Antonio.

The Lasers competed in the Southern California Regionals at Fullerton last Friday and saw freshmen Arthur Bellegy and Pierre Vandegaer and the doubles teams of Bellegy and freshman Kiichi Ishida and Vandegaer and freshman Inaki Braun Simo advance to state.

Bellegy was the player of the year in the Orange Empire Conference as the Lasers won the conference with a record of 8-0.

IVC had a record of 11-4 overall with two of the defeats coming against four-year schools and the other two losses to CCCAA State team champion College of the Desert.
