Irvine Valley two-year starting men's soccer player Daniel Segal signed with Westcliff University last week.

This past season, Segal ranked second on the team in goals, tied for second in assists and second in points.

He ended with eight goals, six assists and 22 points.

Segal had one goal and one assist as Irvine Valley beat El Camino, 4-0, on Sept. 4 and had two big goals and an assist as IVC defeated Norco, 4-2, on Nov. 2.

The win over Norco was one of four straight to end the season and help get the Lasers into the playoffs.

Segal, a former Irvine High player, helped IVC reach the CCCAA South Regional Playoffs and end the 2018 season with a record of 8-10-3 overall.

He is headed to a Westcliff squad that will be in its first year as a program in 2019. The Warriors are scheduled to compete independently next season.

Segal will play for new coach Joey O'Keefe.
