  • Baseball player Matt Harris signs with Cal State Monterey Bay
    August 22, 2014
    A two-year starter in the outfield for the Lasers, Harris was named all-Orange Empire Conference after the 2013 season. He led IVC in a number of offensive categories in both 2013 and 2014.
  • Baseball player Harrison Collacott off to Whittier College
    July 01, 2014
    Collacott, a Villa Park High product, pitched in relief for two seasons for the Lasers. He is headed to a Whittier College team that was 17-11 in conference last year.
  • Assistant coach Mike Martinez a College World Series honoree
    May 29, 2014
    Martinez took part in a pre-game ceremony at Cal State Fullerton last Friday night for the 1984 and 2004 Titan championship teams. He was a key pitcher on the 2004 Cal State Fullerton team, which beat Texas for the title.
  • Former baseball assistant Tony Cappuccilli with UNLV in NCAAs
    May 28, 2014
    Cappuccilli, who spent the last four years as part of the Laser coaching staff, is a volunteer assistant with the Rebels this season. UNLV plays UC Irvine in the NCAA Tournament Friday at the Corvallis Regional in Oregon.

    A two-year starter for Irvine Valley, Wagner helped Bacone in Muskogee, Okla. win the Red River Conference tournament title last weekend. He was also named all-conference for the Warriors.

    The Lasers defeat the Lancers for the second time in this week in nonconference action, earning a 4-2 win at home on Thursday. Jesus Meza pitches eight strong innings and Teddy Steffel has two hits for IVC.

    The Lasers beat rival Saddleback, 4-3, in the Orange Empire Conference opener on Thursday at IVC. Dallas Porter's walk with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning brought in the winning run.
