Peter Carey is in his ninth year as a soccer coach at Irvine Valley College.

Carey coached as an assistant with the IVC men's program from 2009-12 and then moved over to help head coach Joe Supe with the women's program in 2013.

He helped lead the IVC women's soccer team to one of the best seasons in program history in 2014.  

Irvine Valley finished with a record of 12-4-6 overall and 9-3-4 in the Orange Empire Conference for third place and also made the Southern California Regional Playoffs. It was the first time the Lasers made the playoffs in 20 years.

Irvine Valley had six players named all-Orange Empire Conference, including three to the first team. And standout defender Emely Portillo signed with Division 1 Louisiana-Monroe.

Carey is currently also the head boys varsity coach at San Juan Hills High School and he is the director for the California Premier League and Capistrano F.C. club programs.

He previously coached boys soccer at Capistrano Valley High School from 2008-2011, was the Capistrano Valley Christian girls varsity head coach from 2007-2008 and has also worked at the Chivas USA Academy and with the San Juan Soccer League.

Carey holds a USSF National C, NFHS and NSCAA Level 6 coaching licenses.
