Steele Sylte is in his third year on the Irvine Valley men's basketball staff.

Sylte is a former player for the Lasers. He was a grayshirt for the Lasers for the 2010-11 season and then competed for IVC on the court in the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons.

He was given the coaches award after the 2012-13 season for his hard work with the squad.

Sylte then transferred to Cal State San Marcos where he played from 2013-15. Cal State San Marcos had a record of 62-6 over those two yars and was ranked No. 1 in the country.

He graduated in 2016 with a degree in communications. Sylte, who played high shool ball in Sacramento and Orange County and was part of a CIF championship team at Tesoro High in 2009, plans on going back to school and working toward his master's degree in sports management.
