Women's soccer team falls to Fullerton in OEC clash at home

The Irvine Valley women's soccer team lost to Fullerton, 5-1, at home on Friday afternoon in an Orange Empire Conference contest.

The Lasers saw their record go to 2-10-1 overall and 0-6-0 in conference. Fullerton picked up its first OEC victory and went to 3-8-0 overall and 1-4-0 in conference play.

Fullerton got on the board in the 10th minute on a goal by Auburn Burnett.

Ashley Bautista, Izabelle Garcia, Elizabeth Navarro and Alisha Cruz-Medina added goals for the Hornets in the contest.

The Lasers got into the scoring column in the 88th minute when sophomore forward Julia Butz sent a cross into the box where freshman forward Fernanda Flores finished.

Irvine Valley freshman keeper Andrea Gonzales made several key stops throughout the match and finished with 10 saves.

IVC plays again next Tuesday at district rival Saddleback at 3 p.m.
