Star Irvine Valley women's basketball player Trasara Alexander has signed with NCAA Division II Biola University.

The guard was named first team all-Orange Empire Conference this past season after helping Irvine Valley to a record of 21-9 overall. The team was ranked in the top 20 in the state the whole 2022-23 sesaon and reached a California Community College Athletic Association SoCal Regional Final.

The Lasers fell to rival Orange Coast, which went on to win the state title, 73-58, in early March.

Alexander played and started in all 30 of IVC's contests.

She averaged 15.4 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game overall. 

Alexander scored in double figures in 23 games, including going for more than 20 points in seven games. She finished the year with 15 straight double-digit scoring performances.

Alexander had a career-high 33 points in Irvine Valley's 74-64 conference win at Fullerton on Jan. 20, 2023. In that game, she also made 6 of 11 three-point attempts.

She also had 15 games with at least 10 rebounds, including a season-best 16 boards in IVC's 58-51 win at Rio Hondo on Nov. 22, 2022.

In Orange Empire Conference play, the freshman guard out of Corona del Mar High was even better, averaging 21.0 points, 10.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.1 steals per contest.

Alexander is headed to a Biola team that finished with a record of 14-14 overall last season and went 13-7 in the California Pacific Conference.
