The Irvine Valley athletics program has had a number of signings over the last several weeks.

The women's basketball team picked up its second of the year with star post player Zoe Stachowski signing with NCAA Division I Cal Poly.

She joins Anai Washington, who signed in March with Cal State Los Angeles.

The duo of Stachowski and Washington helped Irvine Valley to another Orange Empire Conference title - third in a row - and a great overall campaign.

Irvine Valley finished 25-3 overall, 12-0 in conference and made and another trip to the California Community College Athletic Association So. Cal. Regional Playoff finals.

Stachowski was part of an Irvine Valley program the last two years that went 48-9 overall, captured two OEC titles and made the regional finals twice.

Stachowski averaged a double-double on the year, with 16.4 points, 12.9 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 0.8 blocks per game during the 2019-20 season.

She was chosen all-conference for the second straight season.

Stachowski was selected to the first team after averaging 16.9 points and 12.3 rebounds overall and 17.5 points and 12.6 rebounds in conference.

But she was also a star in the classroom. Stachowski was selected to the California Community College Women's Basketball Association Academic All-State Team.

Stachowski recorded a 3.76 grade point average to earn the honors through the fall of 2019.

During her freshman year in 2018-19 at IVC, Stachowski was named second team all-conference and averaged 12.7 points and 13.3 rebounds per game.

She finished with 644 rebounds in her career at Irvine Valley.

Stachowski is headed to a Cal Poly squad that had a record of 11-18 overall and was 6-10 in the Big West Conference. The squad had won its first two games in the Big West Tournament, beating Long Beach State and UC Irvine, before the event was shut down at the Honda Center due to the coronavirus pandemic.
