Men's volleyball team rallies for a win at Moorpark

Irvine Valley's men's volleyball team won its second straight match, rallying for a five-set victory on the road Friday at Moorpark.

The Lasers, who improved their record to 2-1 on the year, came out on top, 25-16, 21-25, 22-25, 28-26, 15-13.

IVC won the final two sets to take the match.

Irvine Valley hit .321 in the contest and had 63 kills overall.

Freshman opposite Garret Costello led the way with 21 kills. He hit .325 in the match and also added three blocks and four digs.

Freshman Kyle Radecki added 15 kills and four digs and freshman Rubin Lopez had 14 kills and eight digs for the Lasers. Lopez hit .321 in the match.

Sophomore setter Peter Van Liefde ended with 50 assists and added in six blocks.

Irvine Valley, which defeated LA Pierce last Wednesday at home in four sets, is slated to play in a quad event at Orange Coat on Saturday. IVC will take on Long Beach City and Santa Monica.

The Lasers will then play again next Friday at home against Santa Barbara City at noon.

The match was moved up due to IVC's women's basketball team hosting a playoff game on Friday night.
