Irvine Valley's men's tennis team received the No. 1 seed in the California Community College Athletic Association dual team Southern California regional playoffs.

The Lasers have a record of 14-1 overall and were 10-0 in the Orange Empire Conference.

Irvine Valley won its second straight conference title this season.

IVC, which won the Southern California regional last year and then finished second in the state, opens this year's regional on Tuesday at home against No. 6 Grossmont at 2 p.m.

Other regional match-ups include No. 7 Riverside at No. 4 Cerritos, No. 5 Ventura at No. 3 San Diego Mesa and No. 8 Saddleback at No. 2 College of the Desert.

With a win on Tuesday, Irvine Valley would face the winner of the Riverside and Cerritos match in the next round on April 14.

Irvine Valley has already played Grossmont this season.

The Lasers defeated the Griffins, 6-3, at home in the second match of the season.

In that win, IVC won five of six matches in singles.

Grossmont enters Tuesday's playoff match with a record of 12-6 overall.
