Irvine Valley's men's soccer team went on the road and picked up another point in Orange Empire Conference action Friday at Santa Ana.

The Lasers defeated Santa Ana, 1-0, at home Sept. 27 and then tied the Dons away Friday.

"Both teams had spells of dominance in the game, but both defended well throughout the 90 minutes," IVC coach Conor Ward said.

Irvine Valley improved its record to 8-5-3 overall and 3-2-2 in conference. The Lasers stay near the top of the table in the OEC.

Freshman keeper Tygo Steenvoorden made three saves for the Lasers.

And sophomore midfielder Julian Svoboda had three shots for IVC.

"Any time you go on the road in the OEC, especially to Santa Ana, a point is well earned," Ward said.

"We had many positives today and players that haven't been featured as much stepped in, stood out and played well. It is good for our side."

Irvine Valley takes on Orange Coast at home next Tuesday at 3 p.m. in a conference match.
