The Irvine Valley men's soccer team is on a roll at the perfect time.

The Lasers won their fifth straight match, dominating Imperial Valley in a 6-1 win on Tuesday afternoon at home.

Irvine Valley finished with a season-high 27 shots on the day, including 16 on goal in the victory.

"We started really strong," IVC coach Conor Ward said. "It was another good performance from them. In our recent games, we've scored early goals and it has helped us build good momentum."

Sophomore forward Adem Toskic finished with three goals and one assist, freshman midfielder Jacob Edwards added two goals and freshman forward Martin Fabatia contributed a goal late for the Lasers.

IVC sophomre midfielder Julian Svoboda had three of the assists and freshman forward Grant Miller, freshman defender Gabriel Velasco and freshman midfielder Moises Delgado added an assist each.

"I just said to the players that it is not too often that a team goes five in a row," Ward said. "I am happy for that. The biggest thing now is to get them thinking that every game is like the playoffs. You want to be a team that is a contender at the end of the year. We have the talent, but we are going to be dealing with some tough teams coming up."
