The Irvine Valley men's soccer team won again on Friday afternoon.

The Lasers took their fourth match in a row, defeating San Diego Mesa, 1-0, on the road.

IVC improved its record to 4-3-0 overall with two home matches coming up next week.

Irvine Valley has outscored its opponents over the stretch, 13-2, with three shutouts in the last four contests.

The Lasers got on the board early with freshman forward Grant Miller scoring off an assist from freshman defender Gabriel Velasco.

It was Miller's team-leading goal of the season.

Irvine Valley had plenty of chances the rest of the contest, but played great defense, controlled the ball and earned another win.

Freshman keeper Tygo Steenvoorden had to make just one save in the match.

Irvine Valley is back at home for two matches next week. The Lasers host Imperial Valley on Tuesday at 2 p.m. and then are part of a doubleheader with the IVC women's squad on Friday against Taft.

The Laser women play Taft at 1 p.m. and then the Irvine Valley men take on Taft at 3 p.m.
