Men's soccer player Domenyk Jara headed to DII Concordia

Irvine Valley freshman standout defender Domenyk Jara, out of El Toro High, is headed to NCAA Division II Concordia University in the fall.

Jara played in 20 matches, started 15 and was a key player in a successful 2021 season for the Lasers.

Jara follows former Irvine Valley star defender Garrett Hayes, who will play at Division II Cal State Monterey Bay.

Jara helped Irvine Valley have a record of 9-10-3 overall and make the California Community College Athletic Association So. Cal. Regional Playoffs during the 2021 season.

IVC played one of the toughest schedules in the state this past year.

Jara was a big part of the Laser defense. IVC gave up just 1.77 goals per match this past season.

He is headed to a Concordia program that had a record of 7-7-3 overall in 2021 and went 5-3-2 in conference and is coached by former Irvine Valley great and state champion Chris Gould.
