Men's basketball team drops road game at LA Valley

After earning an important home win over El Camino on Wednesday, Irvine Valley dropped its game on Friday at Los Angeles Valley.

The Lasers struggled to score and fell, 57-48, to the Monarchs.

Sophomore post player Charlie Henderson led the way for the Lasers with 17 points, seven rebounds and four steals.

Freshman guard Roman Swizek added 10 points and freshman forward Jordan Montrose had six points and six rebounds for the Lasers.

Irvine Valley trailed, 30-27, at the half, but was outscored by six points in the second half.

IVC shot just 31.1 percent (19 of 61) from the field as a team in the contest and 29.6 percent (8 of 27) from three-point range.

LA Valley was paced by Nikko Rodriguez and Sargent Jeffrey, who each finished with 17 points.

Irvine Valley plays again next Tuesday, starting Orange Empire Conference play against Orange Coast at home at 6 p.m.
