Sophomore wing player Christian Louis came through with his biggest shot as a Laser so far
Louis drilled a jumper with .2 left to lift the Irvine Valley men's basketball team to a 65-63 win on the road at Miramar in San Diego on Wednesday night.
The victory kept IVC, which is ranked No. 14 in the state, unbeaten on the year at 5-0.
Irvine Valley led, 43-39, at the end of the first half, but had trouble scoring in the final 20 minutes.
Miramar battled back to take a 63-61 lead with 51 seconds left.
And then the Lasers got the ball back with not much time left on the clock.
Louis hit the 15-foot game winner after taking an inbounds pass from freshman forward Colby Waite, driving to his left and then spinning back to his right to create room from a defender.
Louis' shot was nothing, but net.
Carter led Irvine Valley with 21 points and nine rebounds. Waite added 10 points and nine rebounds.
Irvine Valley plays again next Wednesday, hosting El Camino at 5 p.m.
