Grossmont took a 15-14 lead in the top of the eighth inning when Jacob Embleton hit a two-run single to left center field.

Irvine Valley rallied and tied the game in the bottom of the eighth.

Freshman first baseman Jackson Snitko singled with one out and then with two outs, freshman right fielder Kade Murray doubled down the left field line to score Snitko and make it a tie game.

The game then stayed tied until the 11th when Grossmont scored four runs.

The big blow was a three-run double by Michael Sweeney in the top of the 11th.

Murray went 4 for 7 with three runs scored and two RBI for Irvine Valley.

Freshman designated hitter Nomar Vasquez reached base five times, going three for four with two walks and two RBI.

Freshman right-hander Colin Rhee took the loss in relief for IVC. He went three innings and gave up four runs on three hits and two walks with three strikeouts.
